The surest way of reaching a large number of prospects for your network marketing products or down line is the business meeting. In order to truly benefit from your business meeting and build your down line you must become a skilled presenter. It is impera- tive to understand the building blocks of skilled material presen- tations and know how to apply them.
The network marketing business generally views people as potential customers or potential distributors. However many individuals may be both. Many people become distributors after buying and using the products. After viewing a presentation of the business, people may decide to become a customer, distributor, or neither. Talking about both business concepts and knowing which member of the audience may be leaning toward which side of the business is tricky.
Here are 3 tips for having successful meetings.
1. Before the first attendee sets foot in the room, you must take charge of the meeting. How the meeting place looks and feels will play an important part in how your prospects will respond.
Avoid cheap hotel meeting rooms. Better yet, rent a small meeting room at an upscale hotel, or meet in someone’s home. You can’t control everything, but you can control the air conditioning, the lights, the seating, or whatever other aspect that makes a room conducive to a meeting.
2. What do you want to convey? Is your message directed at customers or distributors? Are you thinking of addressing both customers and distributors? At the beginning of your presentations share your goals for the meeting and then work backwards. This will ensure that everyone is on the same page with you.
3. What kind of personality do you have? Try to make the most of it. If you are naturally enthusiastic, learn how to turn it down a bit. That way you will draw in the folks who are by nature more reserved. On the other hand, if you tend to be more introverted, learn to stretch out of your comfort zone and act more enthused. Don’t forget that some of these people may be very different from you. So you will need to offer a little something to everyone. If not, you will probably only appeal to those most like you. The network marketing industry relies heavily on your ability to present yourself, the company and the product. Don’t let that throw you off. Keep practicing, sharpening your presentation skills. Don’t just read about it, visit meetings where experienced presenters are showing the business. You can learn from them while practicing on smaller groups.
Don't limit yourself by refusing to learn the details about network marketing. The more you know, the easier it will be to focus on what's important.
